WHY THIS TOUR?

Nestled deep within the majestic Truong Son Mountain Range, Aur Village (A Vuong Commune, Tay Giang District) remains one of Vietnam's most secluded and unspoiled highland communities. Reaching the village is an adventure in itself, requiring several hours of trekking along narrow mountain trails that wind through dense forests and steep valleys. The route is traditionally marked on large trees, guiding both local villagers and first-time visitors through this remote wilderness.

Far removed from modern urban life, Aur has earned several remarkable nicknames. It is often called "The Village as Clean as Singapore" thanks to its spotless environment and strong community commitment to preserving nature. It is also known as "The Village of Four Zeros"—a place with no electricity, no mobile phone signal, no roads, and no medical station—offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience a simple, self-sufficient way of life. More than just a remote destination, Aur is affectionately referred to as "The Happy Village," where genuine hospitality, close-knit community spirit, and harmony with nature define everyday life.

IMPORTANT NOTES

1. Trekking Notes

  • Terrain: The route follows a network of traditional village trails through the untouched rainforest of the Truong Son Mountain Range. Hikers walk beneath a lush forest canopy, crossing clear streams, small waterfalls, and scenic river valleys. The terrain is predominantly gentle, with well-defined natural paths and only a few short ascents and descents, making for an enjoyable and immersive forest trek.

  • Suitability: Suitable for participants with a reasonable level of fitness who enjoy hiking in natural environments. Previous trekking experience is not required. Recommended for adults and children aged 10 years and above. The route offers a moderate outdoor adventure with plenty of opportunities to rest, explore the rainforest, and cool off in natural pools along the way.

2. Overnight Stay in Communal House

  • Overnight Stay: Spend the night in a traditional Guol House, the communal house of the Co Tu people. Sleeping is arranged in a shared dormitory-style space, with mattresses, blankets (or sleeping bags), pillows, and mosquito nets provided for a comfortable night's rest. Staying together under one roof offers a genuine cultural experience and a chance to immerse yourself in the rhythm of village life.
  • Facilities: As one of Vietnam's most remote mountain communities, Aur Village offers simple but clean facilities. Shared toilets and bathing areas are located outside the Guol House. For bathing, hot water is prepared by boiling water rather than supplied through a conventional hot-water system. The experience is intentionally simple, allowing guests to appreciate the authentic lifestyle of this off-the-grid community.

3. Food & Water

  • Meals: All meals showcase authentic, hearty local cuisine designed to replenish your energy. Breakfasts are served hot at communal house.
  • Water & Energy: Clean, safe drinking water and energy-boosting snacks (such as fresh fruits or local treats) are supplied daily during the tour.
  • Hot Beverages: Complimentary hot tea or coffee is generally available during breakfasts at the communal house.

  • Leave No Trace: We strictly follow and promote the Leave No Trace principles in all our outdoor programs. We encourage our guests and partners to apply these ethics to minimize our impact on the natural environment.
  • Reduce Plastic Waste: To limit single-use plastics, we encourage everyone to bring a reusable bottle (minimum 1L capacity). You can refill it throughout the day from our large water jugs.
  • Local Regulations: We kindly ask all guests to comply with the specific environmental regulations and instructions provided by our guides at the destination.

5. Health & Safety

  • Medical Considerations: Your safety is our priority. If you have a history of cardiovascular conditions or chronic joint issues (knees, ankles, shoulders, etc.), please consult with your doctor before booking this trip.
