ITINERARY
Day 1: Ha Noi – Cuc Phuong – Trekking – Bong

08:00  Arriving at the pickup point. Board the bus to Ninh Binh. You can prepare your own breakfast to eat on the bus or at a rest stop along the way.  

11:00  Arriving at Cuc Phuong National Park. Gathering with the rangers and local guides, receiving instructions for the trip, and preparing gear for the expedition. Before entering the forest, visit the Primate Rescue Center to learn about Cuc Phuong’s research and conservation efforts.  

13:00  Going by bus to Bong. Upon arrival, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before starting a 2-3 hour trek in the old-growth forest along the trail to the giant Dang tree. Rangers will accompany the group to share knowledge about the flora and fauna of the forest and survival skills.  

17:00  Coming back to Bong. Setting up camp and relaxing, or exploring short walking trails in Bong.  

19:30  Having dinner at the restaurant in Bong.  

20:30  Spending the rest of the evening relaxing by the campfire until bedtime.

Day 2: Cuc Phuong – Bear Rescue Center – Ha Noi

08:00  Waking up to the sounds of birds and insects. Having a cup of coffee or hot tea with a full breakfast at the restaurant in Bong.  

09:00  Packing up the campsite and boarding the bus to Cave of Prehistoric Man, located on the route from Bong to the park gate. After exploring the cave, heading to the Bear Rescue Center operated by the international organization Four Paws, located 10 km from Cuc Phuong National Park.  

11:00  Arriving at the Ninh Binh Bear Rescue Center. This internationally certified environmental education site offers professional facilities and activities. Rescue staff will guide the group through various areas of the center. The stories and experiences here will help raise awareness of efforts to protect bears in Vietnam.  

13:00  After visiting the center, drive to a restaurant in Ninh Binh for lunch.  

15:00  Coming back to Hanoi. End of the tour.

1. Trekking Notes

  • Distance: The trekking route is approximately 6 to 7 km per day.
  • Terrain: we will trek approximately 6–7 km through forest terrain, primarily along faint and sometimes indistinct trails, with several sections that are quite overgrown.
  • Suitability: This route is ideal for most fitness levels, including beginners. Families are welcome, as children aged 6 to 10 can comfortably join this adventure.

2. Camping.

  • VAH provides shared 4-person tents (2 guests per tent), along with sleeping mats and sleeping bags. In addition, VAH supplies tables, chairs, and tarps to enhance comfort and convenience during the forest camping experience.

3. Responsible Travel & Environmental Protection
