ITINERARY
Sapa – Sau Chua – Sa Seng – Hang Da – Thao Hong Den – Hau Thao – Sapa

Meet your local guide and driver at your hotel in Sapa, then take a short road transfer along National Road 4D to the trekking starting point.

From there, begin trekking uphill on a large rocky path for around 2 hours through a narrow valley running between two high mountains. Along the route, pass through Sau Chua and Sa Seng, two hamlets of the Black H’mong people in the Sapa area. The H’mong communities here only changed from a shifting lifestyle to a more settled way of life in recent history, so you can still see traces of the past such as simple houses and stone walls around homes.

Lunch will be served in the village.

After lunch, continue along the same trail, gradually climbing Den Thang Mountain for about 1 hour to reach Hang Da Village, a Black H’mong village located at around 1,800 meters above sea level and overlooking Muong Hoa Valley. Here, visit several local homes and enjoy the scenery. Hang Da Village is one of the places in Hau Thao Commune highlighted for its mountain setting and panoramic rice-terrace views.

Leaving Hang Da, continue on an easy high-elevation walk for about 30 minutes with excellent views over Muong Hoa Valley before arriving at Thao Hong Den, another Black H’mong village. Visit several local homes and enjoy one of the most photogenic sections of the trek. The wider Hau Thao area is often noted for cloud-covered scenery, terraced landscapes, and H’mong village life above Muong Hoa Valley.

From there, descend for about 1 hour along a dirt trail to Pho Village in the center of Hau Thao Commune, where the vehicle will be waiting for the transfer back to Sapa.
